After moving to Colorado in 1999, and discovering the
Colorado Sportbike Club,
Bob finally learned that sport-riding was more than going fast in a straight line!
In 2002, he bought a brand-new Yamaha R1 and ventured on to the track a few times.
In the spring of 2003, he attended a track school at PPIR, continued doing track days,
and in August, he got his MRA License.
In 2004, Bob campaigned a 1999 Yamaha R6 and finished the season in 7th place overall in both Novice GTU and Novice GTO, despite crashing out twice from each class. Bob has maintained the team's website since it's inception, and in 2005, he officially took on the role of rider/manager. Moving to Expert for 2005, and switching to a 2003 Yamaha R6 mid-season, Bob placed 9th overall in Amateur GTU, and 13th overall in Middleweight Supersport. 2006 didn't go quite as planned. A mechanical issue during the double-header round at Miller Motorsports Park cast serious doubt on any hopes of achieving his Middleweight Supersport/ Superbike goals, but a couple of borrowed bikes allowed him to salvage some points for Amateur GTU. |
