After his first track day at Pueblo in 2002, Joe made the decision to stop riding on the street, and immediately started converting his street bike into a race bike. He took the MRA school later that year, and followed it up with a Jason Pridmore STAR school, but didn't start racing until the end of 2003, where he competed in the last 4 race weekends.

In 2004, he competed in another 4 race weekends, and moved to expert for the last race of the season.

2005 was plagued by disasterous mechanical issues which prevented him from competing most of the season, but there were a couple of promising moments during the double-header weekend at PPIR on his newly acquired 748, a bike he'd never ridden before: he started the endurance race almost 1 lap back, and made it up to 9th place before being black flagged with 6 laps to go, and; he finished in 4th place in Supertwins GTU.

Joe is looking forward to an exciting year with bigger and better results.
